The American Institute of Chemical Engineers
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is the global hub for chemical engineers. Founded in 1908, AIChE has grown into a robust community of over 60,000 members spanning more than 110 countries. This organization serves as a vital platform for knowledge sharing, professional development, and networking. AIChE is dedicated to advancing the chemical engineering profession, addressing global challenges, and fostering innovation and sustainability in industries ranging from energy and pharmaceuticals to biotechnology and materials science.
Our Project
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) engaged GEC to support two key initiatives. First, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of potential funding sources for the Sustainable Energy Corps, a program providing $10,000 grants to university student teams focused on sustainability research. Second, we benchmarked AIChE's sustainability credential against competing offerings to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. Through these projects, AIChE improved its ability to enhance impact on sustainable development by securing additional resources for student innovation and refining its sustainability education program.
